Welcome to Cityheart Living

About Us

Specialists in Public & Private Sectors

Led by Patrick Hughes, Cityheart Living specialises in working with both the public and private sectors. We have been particularly successful in managing Student Accommodation buildings across the United Kingdom.

Our various projects demonstrate Cityheart’s strong ethos of working closely with its partners. We seek to understand our partner’s needs and aspirations and to deliver sustainable, cost effective solutions which offer real and demonstrable ‘value for money’.

Dedicated Student Accommodation Management

Lettings In and Out of Term Time

Cityheart Living provides student accommodation lettings in term-time as well as holiday lettings during the summer months across the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, from Inverness to Lerwick.

The residence application process is managed by Cityheart Living, from initial query through to the issue of the tenancy agreement. Our aim is to give our student residents as soft a landing as possible, as we understand that for the majority this will be their first experience of being away from home.

Staff training plays an integral part in the student management services we deliver, as our on-site teams are often the first to recognise when students are not adapting to University life. Our early identification of issues allows us to inform our University partners that some form of additional student support is required. We have found that by working closely retention can be improved.

Asset Management

On-going Operational Management

Another key aspect of Cityheart Living’s service is in servicing the assets of our clients. Cityheart Living delivers the on-going operational management of properties including the “hard” and “soft” element of Facilities Management. Planned preventative maintenance and lifecycle management is undertaken on behalf of our clients, as is the reactive maintenance requirements for each and every property.

Cityheart Living is headed by Patrick Hughes, former Director of Property & Facilities at Edinburgh Napier University.

Our experience allows us to aid the design development process for our clients, as we work to find the most cost effective design solutions for a client when considering the “whole life cost” versus the capital value over the lifetime of a proposed development.
